Why a Foundation?
Habonim Dror Foundation was founded in 1994 to support the work of Habonim
Dror North America, the Labor Zionist youth movement. We are movement graduates
and friends who believe in the mission of Habonim Dror. Despite the years
that have past since the establishment of the movement 60 years ago, the
message and activity are still meaningful and relevant. Surprisingly to
many of us, the camps, kinim (city groups) and Israel programs are thriving
and need our support to reach their potential.
Financial contributions to the Foundation go to expand of the movements
work. Recent grants include:
-
Funding a national coordinator who supports activities in kinim and establishes
new groups.
-
Seed money to hire a registrar for the re-establishment of the New York
area Habonim Dror camp, Camp Na'aleh.
-
Matching funds for a recent campus tour of Peace Now activists organized
by the Progressive Zionist Caucus.
In addition to financial contributions, the Foundation supplies organizational
and moral support to the movement. The Foundation publishes a quarterly
print newsletter, Chadashot, facilitates a
listserv and provides a meeting place for Habonim
Dror graduates and friends. Please consider making
a contribution to the Foundation.
